Title: Cat in the Archway (Summer)

Description: This wall hanging is based on a photo taken by my friend Dorothea, visiting her relatives in Spain. The design combines raw edge applique and a "shattered glass" technique that helps make the applique "puzzle" pieces fit together easily. The wrought iron archway and the cat are reverse appliqued, layered on top in the final stages for a dramatic finishing touch. Free motion machine stitching is used to stitch the intricate shapes with ease. You will be thrilled with the finished wall hanging. This is the first in a series of 4 Cat designs, one depicting each season of the year.
