Cat in the Park / Autumn

A wild, windy day in the park, perfect for a curious cat to go exploring. This wall hanging was created as the fourth in the "Seasonal Cat" series. The design combines raw edge applique and a "shattered glass" technique that helps make the applique "puzzle" pieces fit together easily. The black cat is reverse appliqued, layered on top in the final stages for a dramatic finishing touch. Free motion machine stitching is used to stitch the intricate shapes.
